Animal Shelter
Our Mission Statement Is to work with county law enforcement offices to provide assistance for abandoned, abused, unwanted, and neglected animals; to ensure that these animals reside in an environment that provides protection, love, activity, and nourishment; and to place these animals in caring, loving homes where they can lead productive lives.

Assessor’s Office
Our office pledges to continue its efforts to appraise property in Barnwell County as accurately and fairly as possible. We will apply policies and practices with honesty, reliability, and respect. We want to serve the citizens of Barnwell County in the most efficient and friendliest atmosphere possible.

Auditor
The mission of the Auditor and staff of the Barnwell County Auditor’s Office is to provide the citizens of Barnwell County with accuracy and courtesy in the performance of their responsibilities. These responsibilities include the taxation of personal property such as, motor homes, campers, trailers, motorcycles, watercraft and watercraft motors, merchant’s furniture, fixtures, and equipment, aircraft, and manufacturer’s real and personal property.

Barnwell Regional Airport
Barnwell Regional Airport is a General Aviation Airport owned and operated by Barnwell County. The Airport was originally constructed in 1942 by the U.S. Army Air Corps and used as a training base for B-25 bombers during World War II. The Airport has two active asphalt runways. Runway 17/35 measuring 5,119 feet long was recently resurfaced and widened to 100 feet Runways 5/23 is 5,255 feet long by 75 feet wide.

Treasurer
The Treasurer’s Office collects real and personal property taxes which includes vehicles, watercrafts and motors and oversees their disbursement to county government, municipalities, and schools. The Treasurer’s Office also maintains records of revenues collected by these districts and invests any funds not immediately needed for disbursement. The treasurer, an elected official, serves as the holding agent for funds of many county departments. These departments deposit their funds with the treasurer who invests these monies, along with tax collections, to generate additional revenues for the county in the form of interest earnings.
