Barnwell County is now accepting applications for the position of Detention Center Office Manager.  This position performs a variety of advanced clerical and secretarial duties to help ensure effective and efficient administrative office operations; monitors department spending for law enforcement and detention, orders office supplies, chemical supplies, procurement purchasing, and monitors time sheets for all professional employees at the Detention Center and Sheriff’s Department.  This position plans, directs and oversees administrative functions, ensuring compliance with County policies and procedures and standards of quality and safety, and will oversee department contracts, process all invoices for payment, maintain inmate canteen fund and associated checking accounts, balance monthly bank statements, reconcile, and make bank deposits, manage petty cash accounts and reconciliation.

Requires an Associate’s degree in office administration, accounting, or secretarial science supplemented by three to four years of general office experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Requires a valid SC driver’s license.

Position is hourly, 40-hr work week with benefits provided.
