Barnwell County is now accepting applications for a full-time Dispatcher. Under general supervision, provides law enforcement, fire and medical communication assistance to all citizens of Barnwell County. Answers telephone and monitors computers and alarms; dispatches emergency units after obtaining all pertinent information. Performs various other clerical duties in the 12-hour shifts of days, nights, week-ends, and holidays. Due to the nature of the job to be available for on-call in the events of a disaster or emergency. Reports to the chief Dispatcher. Minimum requirements for this position are as follows:
Requires high school diploma or GED. Clear Criminal History, successfully complete required coursework at SC Criminal Justice Academy and maintain the required training. Applicant must be able to type 30 wpm.

Starting salary: $28,000 Minimum
