Andy Hogg is a native of Barnwell County. Growing up in Kline, SC, Andy attended Barnwell District 45 schools, graduating from Barnwell High School. He attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and Voorhees University. Andy holds an AS in Criminal Justice and a BS in Organizational Management.
Andy worked for 40 years at Savannah River Site for Wackenhut/Centerra, holding many positions. He retired as a Small Arms Training Instructor in June 2023.
Andy has dedicated his life to volunteering in Barnwell County. He was the Captain of the Reserve Deputy program for 27 years. Andy helped to reinstate the Dog Tracking Program and served on the Sheriff’s Response Team. Andy began volunteering as a firefighter for Barnwell City Fire Department in 1986. As the county evolved, he volunteered at Long Branch Fire Department and took over as Fire Chief, serving Barnwell County for over 38 years. Andy even worked with he old Barnwell Rescue Squad as an EMT. During this time, Andy also volunteered coaching girls’ softball in Little League and travel teams for over 15 years.
Andy currently serves as the Midlands Coordinator with his wife, Teresa, for Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team. He has also volunteered for SC Fast.
Andy has been married to his high school sweetheart, Teresa Baxley Hogg, for over 40 years. They have two adult girls, Malory and Andi, who both serve South Carolina in the public sector.
Andy is honored to represent Barnwell County District #3 for the next four years.
