Airport Runway Information

Barnwell Regional Airport is a General Aviation Airport owned and operated by Barnwell County. The Airport was originally constructed in 1942 by the U.S. Army Air Corps and used as a training base for B-25 bombers during World War II. The Airport has two active asphalt runways. Runway 17/35 measuring 5,119 feet long was recently resurfaced and widened to 100 feet Runway 5/23 is 5,255 feet long by 75 feet wide.

The taxiway is newly resurfaced and lighted. Our ramp is also newly resurfaced and expanded to better accommodate jets. Check out the beautiful new modern terminal building. Note the many original paintings inside. We offer self-service Jet A., 100II, and 93 octane auto fuel, all at the lowest prices in the area.

Attendants Hours

Seven days per week.
9 am to 5 pm.

There are no landing or tie-down fees. Restaurants and motels are nearby and a courtesy van is available. Rental cars are available upon request. Bring your laptop, we have "Wi-Fi".

Airport Activities

Regular Airport activities include both recreational and corporate flying, medical shipments/transfers, and flight training/maintenance. A certified A&P/AI mechanic has a shop at the Airport. The Airport has the potential to house an increasing number of corporate aviation activities as the Airport looks to expand. We would welcome your inquiries. Looking for more than just the Airport? Not only do we have many local scenic attractions, but the area also offers outstanding deer and turkey hunting. Excellent hunting lodges are nearby. Fishermen can utilize the 135-acre Lake Edgar Brown, only 1/2 mile from the Airport, as well as the Edisto and Savannah rivers nearby. The Edisto is well known for its outstanding redbreast fishing.
